Every COUHR program works together: most students join our events throughout the year and apply for the Summer Research Program. Each one also stands on its own.
Events
Events & symposiums
Throughout the year we host talks, panels, and symposiums that bring students face-to-face with researchers and each other, alongside our Lab Tours series and the COUHR-iousity Case Competition.
Lab Tours
A rolling series of visits to real research labs, so students can explore different fields and connect with faculty. Spots are limited and posted day-to-day, first-come first-served.
COUHR-iousity Case Competition
Our annual case competition, challenging teams to tackle a different body system each year.
Summer Research Program
Our flagship program. Each summer, students are matched with a host lab to contribute to a real research project from start to finish.
What students do
Take part in hands-on research tasks, from data collection to analysis, working alongside their host lab.
Host labs
We partner with labs and research groups across Canadian universities who are open to hosting a student for the summer.

You don't need prior research experience to apply. We look for curiosity and a genuine interest in health research.

An undergraduate student who's curious about health or medical research and ready to commit some time each week.
You don't need:
Prior lab experience, a research-heavy course load, or a personal connection to a professor.

How do I apply to a program?

Do I need research experience to apply?
No. We look for curiosity and interest in health research, not prior lab experience.
Which universities can students apply from?
Our programs are open to undergraduate students at universities across Canada.
